I would agree with you. People think that Orrians were in the Tarnished Coast because of the "Shards of Orr" dungeon, when that's named more Shards of Orr because Glaive and her crew were given sanctuary in those tunnels by the Vizier.

Which of course does not mean the Orrians were over there, just "turned a blind eye" to the pirate's whereabouts.

Just posting to point out that "the distant shore" or "the farthest shore" are pretty common metaphors for the afterlife.

So it could refer to The Mists. Which sortof makes sense, because that's where the gods reside, right?

That's a good point. Sleep and dreaming are also often used as parallels to death and the afterlife, which means the 'unwaking' part reinforces the theory.

No no no. Heres some advice - stop reading the wiki for lore. Half of the stuff on there is made up.

Hell i went on there awhile ago and saw something about the Seers of Twilight (?) telling Abaddon the secret to defeating the gods. And theres also he whole botched Underworld info on the River of Souls. Use the manuals or quests but do not trust everything the wiki says unless it has info backing it.

Infact i think the Wiki is reffering to Sparkfly Swamps area which isnt actually the Tarnished Coast.

As Free Runner said, don't trust wiki on everything. People can change it as they want, and usually the lore stuff does not get changed back.

And what they "controlled" was the Shards of Orr area, which they didn't control as I said, they simply gave the Corsairs refuge there by "turning a blind eye." No one technically owns the Tarnished Coast except nature, and now the Asuras, and maybe the Mursaat, however that is unproven. Just because the King gave the corsairs refuge in a cave doesn't mean that the cave was owned by Orr, it just means that no one else owned it.

Although, sometimes I wonder if the Shards of Orr is where the "ancient scrolls" were kept to keep out of prying eyes. Since on the second level there seems to be a library of scrolls. Complete speculations of course.

It does seem like Shards of Orr could be the catacombs mentioned in the manuscripts. The room you speak of only has one way into it and would fit the warded vault description easily. And the whole dungeon is actually going up with the 1st level being the bottom floor.
